Postnuptial Agreement
A postnuptial agreement is a marriage contract between spouses that is created after they have married. Sometimes the parties got married without sufficient time to do a prenuptial agreement, or their financial circumstances change after the marriage, or perhaps they are contemplating a divorce or separation and wish to resolve their financial affairs without filing a legal proceeding.

Many married couples create postnuptial agreements order to remove the issues in their marriage that are creating a source of disagreement, whether it be over finances, changes in a career, assets and debts, issues involving the children, inheritance issues or other disputes. These are all valid reasons to want a postnuptial agreement, but it is important that each of the parties seek legal advice before they sign a postnuptial agreement.
